My recent stay at Sapphire Valley was a mixed experience. The accommodations were spacious, perfect for families, but the units themselves were in various stages of disrepair, which was disappointing. Additionally, the location is beautiful for outdoor activities, but finding our condos was a hassle as they were quite far apart. Overall, it was an enjoyable family vacation, but some aspects definitely need improvement.
Rooms

The condos were spacious enough, but the downstairs kitchenette was uncomfortable as there was hardly a place to sit other than a chair. Also, signs of wear and tear were evident, affecting the overall comfort.

The staff at the resort was very responsive and addressed our needs promptly, making our stay a bit easier, especially when we faced issues with missing kitchen items.

The location is picturesque and offers great access to outdoor activities, but it was inconvenient that our two condos were over 2 miles apart, leading to unnecessary hassle during our stay.

Our stay at Sapphire Valley was a mixed experience. While the recreational options and amenities were enjoyable and provided plenty of activities for our family, we faced significant challenges upon our arrival, including issues with our booking and the cleanliness of our unit. The staff were helpful, but it took a while to resolve issues connected to our check-in and accommodations.

The unit we stayed in was dark and could have used more natural light. The living space was large but felt somewhat outdated and not the cleanest.

We had a lovely time at Sapphire Valley, enjoying the serene atmosphere and engaging recreational activities available on-site. The accommodations were quite adequate for our family needs, although we did face a few challenges with the layout of the rooms. Overall, this destination offers a wonderful retreat in the mountains, which we appreciated. Just be mindful of the stairs if mobility is a concern.

We stayed in a two-bedroom lockoff unit, which had convenient access at street level, but the second bedroom was downstairs and involved going down 15 stairs, which was challenging for us. The bathrooms were decent, but the downstairs unit had issues with creaky floors and was smaller than expected.

We loved indulging in outdoor adventures and exploring nearby dining options, which added to our overall experience. However, we did encounter some issues with the upkeep of our unit that dampened our enjoyment.

I recently enjoyed a fantastic week at the Sapphire Valley Resort. Nestled in the stunning Western North Carolina Region, it offers a perfect getaway with ample outdoor activities and charming local attractions. The amenities were great, providing a comfortable stay for our family. However, the perception of it being a ski resort is a bit misleading, as the ski options are limited.
